Governance

CDAT is proud to be a member of the Confederation of School Trusts – the main national body for Academy Trusts – and also of the National Governance Association – so that the Trust Board and LGBs all benefit from top-quality advice and training. We also provide our own training for new governors, hold termly meetings between our CEO, Board Chair and LGB Chairs and have regular network meetings for link governors. We also hold an annual conference attended by our Headteachers, LGB members and the Trust Board.

LGBs are supported through clerking, provided by our governance support partners at Second2None School Support – a package that includes an annual meeting planner to cover all necessary content across the year. Other governor responsibilities – such as appeal hearings for Reception class over-subscription – are also organised by the trust.
