On 1st February 2019, Astbury St Mary's CE Primary School joined the Chester Diocesan Academies Trust (CDAT) Family. As a church school, Astbury St Mary's had already been working closely with CDAT schools and were delighted to officially convert into the Trust at the start of February 2019. The collaboration between CDAT schools will provide great opportunities for staff and children to come together. Staff will share good practice across the Trust to impact teaching and learning and children will have access to wider curricular and extra curricular activities. The shared Christian values across the Trust closely match the values of the school and the CDAT Board are delighted to welcome Astbury St Mary's into the Trust and look forward to working with Pip Worswick, the headteacher, and all of the staff, governors and children.

This new exciting chapter opens in my journey with Astbury School. A journey that began twenty-one years ago when I started teaching in the infant class. Since that very first day, my heart has been drawn to serving the children, families and community who are the life of the school. Upon my appointment as Head teacher, in January 2016, I started to build a strong governing team to challenge and support the school in its actions and developed leadership across all levels of the school. This brought renewed vision and strategic direction to set the pathway to planning for excellence and my staff embarked on a rigorous and enriching training plan, giving them the tools that they needed to deliver outstanding teaching in a nurturing environment.

School Vision

This is underpinned by our Christian values of self-control, love, peace and kindness and our Astbury family is characterised by our Bible verse 'Walk in love as Christ loves you' Ephesians 5:2.

School Mission Statement

Recognising its historic foundation, Astbury St Mary’s C. of E. Primary School will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.

Our school mission statement is:
'Walk in love as Christ loves you' Ephesians 5:2

Giving children a foundation to flourish and live fruitful lives. Rooted in the security of love we grow in learning, character and courage to equip us for the great adventure of life. In our Astbury family the first fruits of our character are our values of self-control, peace and kindness. We learn and practise these to support all we seek to do together.
