Wybunbury Visitors!

We have welcomed a number of visitors to Wybunbury Delves this term.  The Secretary of State for Education, Damian Hinds MP, toured our school whilst on a visit to Crewe and Nantwich to support the newly elected Conservative candidate for Crewe and Nantwich, Kieran Mullan; they were accompanied by Cheshire East Councillors: Rachel Bailey, Jos Saunders and Janet Clowes.

Our children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning with our visitors.  Reception were keen to share their work about houses; Preschool had us all looking for a squirrel as they completed an autumn hunt outside, they had some great ideas about where they might find one!  Maths and English was the focus for most classes; Year 6 were completing a particularly challenging negative number magic squares task that made us all think.  Year 5 were busy completing Geography work connected to their Ancient Greek focus this term, they were keen to talk about their class story – Who let the Gods out and show their ‘big art’ temple to the visitors.  We share our beautiful study work books and talked about our curriculum and the drivers were use to plan our learning experiences.  They also commented on the lovely displays and learning environments found throughout school.  Whilst we toured we discussed the current challenges to

a school in our context and how we work to overcome them.

All our visitors were keen to engage with the children and their willingness to share in the lessons was enjoyed by us all.
